I like funny stuff, especially funny people, so it should come as no surprise to you that I would be a fan of Last Comic Standing. I find about 50% of the people on there actually funny, and one of those people happens to be Sabrina Matthews. You may have heard of her before, she's an openly lesbian comic who relates the absurd in everyday life in a witty anecdotal style. She's been featured on OutLaugh - The Best of Queer Comedy DVD , starred in the award winning film 'Laughing Matters...More' which included three other great Lesbian comics; Elvira Curt, Renee Hicks and Vickie Shaw. To add to her already growing list of comedy credentials, Sabrina has also had her own half hour special: Comedy Central presents Sabrina Matthews.

Sabrina made it onto this season's semi-final round of 'Last Comic Standing' but much to the dismay of adoring fans everywhere, she was voted off the comedic island last night. I'll admit, I had high hopes for Sabrina, but alas America has chosen to vote for some of the less funny stand-up comedians of the male persuasion. It does do me proud to see strong, gay women like Sabrina Matthews who have really captured the essence of humor and are out there making people laugh and making a name for themselves.
