QS: Talking about collaborations, you've also remixed Kylie's 'Come Into My World' - which she is still performing on tour.

CS: Is she? Nice.

QS: So how was that?

CS: That was all Warren. He did the remix and I didn't even hear the song until it was released. But I was really pleased with the result. It's also great that she immediately wanted to use that remix instead of the album version. That was a very nice compliment.

QS: Would you like to work with her again? Maybe do a duet?

CS: Yeah, sure. The only thing I did with her so far, the Top of The Pops performance, was very strange because there was nothing there for me to do. They told me, Kylie wants you to perform the remix of Come Into My World on Top of The Pops and I was like, to do what? I'm not in the song. They then added the phrase Aha that's right to the song. That's the only thing I got. The thing that really annoyed me about the Top of The Pops performance though is that they missed a crucial part of the performance on camera. I asked NME what I should do when I performed with Kylie and they said to slap her ass. So I spoke to the choreographer and mentioned my request. I said I just wanted to slap Kylie's ass on Top of The Pops. We wrote into the whole piece that I would rip her dress of her, that she turns around and I smack her on the ass. I still can't believe the cameraman missed it. If you watch the performance you can see the start and then the slap must have been in between camera angles. It must have been cut out because it disappeared just like that. And just two weeks later, there was the Brits performance with Justin (Timberlake). He slapped her ass on camera and I was like fucking asshole, I already did that and they cut it out. Kylie was sweet, she was great but she is a lesson in how I did not want to be famous. She did 3 television tapings, learned the choreography and rehearsed in one day after flying in from Australia just the day before. She is like superhuman. I didn't want to do that. It's a cruel and unusual punishment.

Kylie and Casey performing on Top of The Pops:

QS: Does Warren like to be a remixer?

CS: We are very weird. He doesn't want to be a remixer even though he makes electronic music and everybody does it. He wishes that he only had done that one Kylie remix and then stopped. That remix would then have been 'the one'. A really strong remix. We are very weird.

QS: Is there anyone else you would like to work with musically? We have been asked to suggest Bjork.

CS: Oh really? That's an interesting idea. God I wonder what we would do. Yeah, maybe. I'm up for anything. I have to say though, that it was actually fun that we did not do a lot of collaborations for this album. When we did Odyssey it was very exciting to all of a sudden have access to all these resources that we never had. That was another reason why most of the first album was all made on a computer because that was all we had and then all of a sudden when they say that you can work in the studio and work with all these people and you can learn from all these established pop professionals. It was really exciting working at all these studios. A lot of them are closed now because it was really the end of an era for the big recording industry. We had amazing mixing sessions at Olympic studios and worked at Sunset Sounds in LA where Led Zeppelin, The Doors and Prince recorded. I do like to collaborate but I have to say that it has been nice to do our own thing. I have been working on some stuff with Jake Shears from the Scissor Sisters so we have some secrets up our sleeve.

QS: Would this be something for the Scissor Sisters or something separate?

CS: We are not sure yet.

QS: What does the future hold for Fischerspooner?

CS: I don't know. We are booked until the end of the year so this is enough for now. Warren is starting to talk about the next thing and he can start that while I do the performances. So that's cool.

QS: Does he ever come to shows?

CS: Never. Never has been, never will. He has never even been on stage. He is not a performer. But then there is nothing much for him to do and he does not want to be standing behind a computer.

QS: So not like with the Pet Shop Boys?

CS: No. He's there when we rehearse. We build the whole thing together but when it's written he steps back and watches. His dream has always been to be able to stand in the audience and watch. So his dream has come true. (laughs)
