VideoW@tch - London-based singer-songwriter Patrick Wolf rejoices us this week with the premiere of the official video for his third single from the album 'The Bachelor', released in June 2009. The single will be released on December 14th 2009 in both vinyl and digital download formats.

The video for 'Damaris' was directed by Patrick himself in collaboration with Director of Photography Rory Broadfoot. Patrick co-stars alongside actress Gwendoline Christie, who currently plays next to Anna Friel in the hit West End production of Breakfast at Tiffanys.

The video is Patricks visual interpretation of the passionate romance between Damaris and Lewis, a tale he discovered while seeking out his English roots.

The song is semi-autobiographical and centred on the loss of love. It is written from the perspective of Lewis after discovering that Damaris has 'died of a broken heart', which, in the 19th century was a polite term for either suicide, or a romantic notion that someone can be so heartbroken that they give up on life.

The video was shot on location at Blackdown, West Sussex.
