Fun - OK, that's not news. And it's not a D-day thing. This is Sydney's first big gay flashmobbing. If you don't know what flashmobbing is:

a) Where have you been since 2003?
b) Be prepared to see a lot less flesh than you might imagine (although there is still some!)

One of Australia's best loved drag queens led around 100 dancers in one of those highly organised, but seemingly spontaneous routines.

Joyce Maynge started with The B-52's Love Shack and launched into a variety of recent dance hits and gay anthem classics as more and more swimshort-clad guys and girls danced behind her.

Onlookers mostly expressed joy at the camp outburst, with one or two merely stunned. After five minutes of shaking their thing it ended with a stampede into the sea. Lovely.

I was thinking of organising a similar thing on Brighton beach, but it's quite hard to spin on shingle.
