Music - Yesterday I told you about the media kerfuffle (love that word) about management companies not wanting to present their young stars as 'too gay'. We know that Chris Colfer was censored to some extent, and there was a suggestion that Adam Lambert's management might have wanted to avoid too much gay press. (I actually argued that this probably wasn't the case - if any of you missed that x)

Well now any suggestions of 'encloseting' can be put aside after Adam Lambert's raunchy performance at the American Music Awards (AMA's). Lambert performed new single 'For Your Entertainment' which included a passionate kiss with another man.

Speaking to CNN after the show, the singer claimed that the kiss had been "in the moment" and was not a choreographed part of his performance.

"Part of what I love about being a performer is sometimes you are just in the moment and things happen. Adrenaline is a crazy feeling," he explained.

Lambert went on to say that he had not been trying to make a statement, but "in hindsight, I do feel like there is a bit of a double standard in the entertainment industry".

"I feel like women performers have been pushing the envelope sexually for the past 20 years and all of a sudden a male does it and everybody goes, 'Oh, we can't show that on TV'. For me, it's a form of discrimination and a double standard and that's too bad."

Presumably the women he's talking about include that Madonna and Britney kiss from a few years ago at a similar event. Although, of course, that was choreographed, and they're not really gay. It's a shame he had to back it up with an 'in the moment' comment, because it shouldn't really matter whether it was or wasn't - he doesn't need to justify it. To my mind that made the moment feel a bit more like the Janet Jackson 'wardrobe malfunction'!

Other memorable moments of the night include Rihanna's very revealing outfit, Lady Gaga's burning piano and Jennifer Lopez falling on her well-insured behind during the performance of her new single 'Fresh Out The Oven'.
