News - After a few setbacks for gay marriage in the US over the passed few weeks finally some good news. The Washington D.C. City Council yesterday passed a measure legalizing gay marriage.
The bill which passed by an 11-to-2 majority may still face a few hurdles in Congress and in the courts but is expected to become law by spring.
Councilman Catania, author of the bill, called the vote an important victory for everyone who supports equal rights but opponents already vowed to try and overturn the bill by calling for a referendum or by working with Congress
The bill seems like a normal evolution as the city already recognizes gay marriages performed in states where they are legal.

Hi, my name is Tara Hardy and I want to let you know about a LGBT event thats happening in Washington, D.C. tonight. Tristan Silverman and I will be performing poetry at Brothertongue at the Rabbit Room Studio with Yermiyahu Ahron Taub and Dan Vera, co-Hosted by Regie Cabico and Natalie E. Ilum.
The gallery is a great LGBT working artist space that holds readings, showings, and events to support the local arts scene. Tristan and I will be performing work that addresses a number of social activist issues, including plenty of queer content.
