Let's add Argentina to the the list of counties that are generally more religious than we are, but still legalized gay marriage:

-Argentina
-South Africa
-Portugal

Ten countries have now legalized gay marriage: Argentina, Belgium, Canada, Iceland, Netherlands, Norway, Portugal, South Africa, Spain and Sweden.

In case you're wondering, Argentina is a strongly Catholic nation. But that didn't stop members of the Church for Latter Day Saints (Mormons) from trying to persuade the Argentinian Senate to vote against gay marriage. This is only because members of the Latter Day Saints movement tend to embark on nothing more substantive than opposing marriage equality.

Congratulations, Argentina. You sent a strong message of equality as the first Latin American country to legalize gay marriage. ...And you've also defeated the Mormons.
