Stage Fright (Queer Sighted)

Oct 5th 5:33 PM: Ricky --
Break a leg at La Mama. Don't be nervous. You'll be fabulous (that's why you were invited.) If you find yourself having a moment where you're lacking confidence, you can borrow some from me. I have so much confidence that you'll be great, I've enough to spare to share it with you. xo Kenny

An Itsy-Bitsy Spat About The Advocate, Hillary Clinton and the 'Lesbian' Question (Queer Sighted)

Sep 26th 9:46 AM: Hi Vincent. No one could be a bigger fan of Richard Rothstein than I am. We agree on most things, sometimes we don't. My disagreeing with him hasn't anything to do with the fact that I'm managing editor, and if it looks that way, sorry. Any Queersighted blogger can disagree with another. Sometimes opposing viewpoints can shed light on a topic in a way a single opinion piece cannot. Richard and I discuss our feuds privately first, then decide one might be worth sharing publicly.

Richard and I are close friends. We're like an old married couple: we sometimes fight, but we never go to bed mad.

When you land on the site and are interested in the posts of a particular writer, just click on the "POSTS" link under their photo in the upper left margin of the blog. It will bring up only that person's articles. Thx. Kenneth/Editor

More About Sissies (Queer Sighted)

Sep 13th 6:27 PM: Daniel, Straight people are defined by their sexuality. See: survivor benefits, adoption laws, hospital visitation, etc etc.

Gay people are also defined, in part, by their sexuality. See: absence of survivor benefits, adoption laws, hospital visitation, employment protection, etc.

The spat Richard and I are having hasn't anything to do with being defined by one's sexuality. It's about the notion that some people in our community wish that sissies didn't exist because, in their view, sissies are screwing up the chances of "normal" gays to be accepted by society.

In other words there now seem to be good gays and bad gays, and being a sissy appears to only be allowed in the latter.

This reasoning is reminiscent of the African American family who moves into a lovely but very white neighborhood, then frowns on any other black families who might be "too black" moving in because they don't want them to ruin the neighborhood.

The Bubble Today, Gad Beck Tomorrow (Queer Sighted)

Sep 7th 7:13 PM: EVERYTHING Gal and Eytan do is top-notch. I think they may be among the least-appreciated film geniuses working today. So cool you met them and got the Gad Beck scoop. It too looks amazing.

My Name Is Richard And I'm A Closet-holic (Queer Sighted)

Sep 6th 2:13 PM: Richard -- No matter how out we are, these moments can creep up on a guy (or gal), can't they? Thanks for sharing your angst. We've all been there.

PS: Do you not think that the ''Hot Men of Ibeza' calendar hanging in your office gives you away -- just a little ???

If Larry Craig Was a Democrat... (News Bloggers)

Sep 4th 10:03 AM: Dinesh -- Obsess much? I assume you've cleared your calendar for the next few weeks so you can wallow in the Larry Craig story and talk about your #1 favorite subject: Gay sex.

I love, too, how you keep leaving out the truth about Barney Frank (" in contrast with Barney Frank's apartment, [Craig's apartment] was not used as a full-service prostitution venue"). Barney Frank didn't know that his basement apartment was being used to house a prostitution service. When he found out, he kicked the guy out and reported the entire incident to the House Ethics Committee. They did a full investigation and cleared him of any wrongdoing.

And as many have already pointed out here, it was Larry Craig's own party that unceremoniously told him he was no longer welcome in Congress. Democrats left the issue alone, pretty much knowing that their Republican counterparts would burn the homosexual on the cross (and God, did they come through with flying rainbow colors).

What's next Dinesh? What other gay demons in that brain of yours are dying to come out?

So How Come Barney Frank's Still in Office? (News Bloggers)

Sep 2nd 12:58 PM: Barney Frank was a single, openly gay man. Big difference. And, he was reprimanded by the House, which of course you failed to mention. You also left out the fact that when Frank learned of Gobie's illegal activities, he asked Gobie to leave his home, and informed the House Ethics Committee about it. The Ethics Committee cleared Frank of any wrong doing after an investigation.

Larry Craig is married, and a hypocrite, whose lies, hubris and homophobic votes on gay issues are now coming back to bite him on the ass as his Republican colleagues treat him the same way he treated homosexuals with the votes he cast as a congressman.

Craig's rapid downfall has nothing to do with a double standard of how Democrats are punished vs. Republicans. No left wing media conspiracy brought him down, his own party did. They dropped him like a hot potato and threw him into the rubbish pile with Foley, Allen and the rest of the Republican scandals, horrified as they watch their own people expose the flagrant hypocrisy of the "family values" party.

Karma is awesome.

But I like the way you continue to skew facts to serve your own homophobic writings, Dinesh. Maybe Karma will pay a visit to you someday, too?

Where Is Jim Naugle When You Need Him? (Queer Sighted)

Aug 27th 12:53 PM: What I don't get is why in God's name anyone would choose to be heterosexual? It's very obviously a lifestyle given to uncontrollable sexual urges.

'Superbad': An Ode to Comics Geeks Everywhere (ComicsAlliance)
